Monsoon set to hit Rajasthan by 15-Jun

As per the assessment by India Met Department (IMD), Jaipur, monsoon is likely to enter Rajasthan by 15-June this year. They reported that weather conditions had become favourable for advancement of south west monsoon over South Andaman sea and Nicobar Islands.

In the assessment made by IMD, Jaipur on Thursday, it was reported that while it is expected that southern Rajasthan will see onset of monsoon by 15-June, it still depended on onset of monsoon in Kerala, which is expected on 1 June.

It is expected that monsoon will hit Rajasthan from Kota and Jhalawar with a larger portion of the state getting covered by 1 July. Along this line, it is expected that pre-monsoon activity in Rajasthan will begin by 7-June and humidity levels will start rising around this time. Readers may note that for monsoon to set-in, humidity levels are expected to be around 90% and higher.
