Rally to be organised to encourage Mewar’s representation in the Army

To encourage the youth for joining Indian Army, a rally is being organised in Udaipur city after 15 years in the month of April. District Soldier Board Welfare officer Lt.Col.Guman Singh Rao said that despite the fact that Mewar region is a land of courage and valour, very few of the youth  here have an inclination to join Indian Army.

The reason behind this is probably lack of awareness. He also said that Udaipur, Banswara, Dungarpur and Pratapgarh districts do not have army recruitment offices and these areas come under the Jodhpur department. Till date no recruitment office for Army has been established in Udaipur which is a much needed thing. In the presence of recruitment office, more and more youth can be encouraged to join the Indian Army.

The rally is to take place between 24th April to 4th May. District administration is co-operating for this purpose.

Appeal to the youth to join the rally

Lt. Col. Rao has appealed to the youth of the city to participate in the forthcoming rally. The minimum qualification required is that the candidate should have cleared 10th standard and age bracket should be 17years 6 months to 21years. Different qualifications and age limits are required for different categories. The detailed information can be collected from the Soldier Board office in Madhuban, Udaipur.  The first stage of the recruitment procedure has physical test, running, beam and long jump for which the candidate should come prepared. This is followed by medical test and written test.

Preparation- Candidates should practice running to a distance of 1600 metres in five and half minutes. This is a minimum requirement for the entry level.
