A bath in the river to beat the heat turned out to be disastrous for a family. 3 teenage boys from the same family drowned in river Gambhiri in Chittorgarh while enjoying a bath.

4 brothers went to bathe in river Gambhiri on Sunday. 3 of these drowned while the fourth was pulled out in time by a passer-by. 2 of the drowned were real brothers while the third one was their paternal cousin. Riyaz (16), Danish (13) both sons of Abdul Latif, Nadeem (15) and Moin (13) both cousins to the former went for a bath. Riyaz and Danish had started drowning while Nadeem drowned in an effort to save these 2. Moin was saved by a passer-by who jumped at the sight of drowning boys and rushed to help.

As per family sources, the brothers had left home on the alibi of madarsa. While bathing Nadeem didn’t realise that he had gone towards the deeper side in water and began sinking. He cried for help. His brothers swam towards him, but Danish also drowned midway and Nadeem started sinking when he tried to save Riyaz.

Raju-a passerby recognised the cries of Moin and somehow managed to save him. Family members are in a state of shock.
