The disappearing act – Lucknow petrol pump

With the latest in fraudulent activities, Jaipur and Lucknow petrol pumps have been much in news for cheating the consumers.

Petrol pumps cheating the consumers by means of a remote operated chip fitted in the nozzle have grabbed the nation’s attention. Going forth with investigations, teams have been checking all petrol pumps only to find chips installed in nozzles at almost every petrol pump of these two cities.

As per a reputed TV news channel, an alarming situation has just been discovered at one of the petrol pumps in Lucknow. While the teams were going back and forth checking and sealing petrol pumps in Lucknow, a shocking situation was discovered. A pump located at the Polytechnic circle of Lucknow did a fantastic disappearing act. The alibi – pump to be shifted to a different place.

When the investigating team reached the petrol pump, most of the staff had run away and all the team found was a property that looked like a construction site. The petrol delivering units were nowhere to be seen, there were cables jutting out from the ground and some thrown here and there. The elite force team also found broken pieces of the ‘cheating chips’ thrown at the site.

It was evident that the owners had fled from the area. The alibi as given to some onlookers was that the pump was being shifted to a different place. Everyone present was shocked that the pump had disappeared much in time before the team reached the venue. The pump site looked more like a construction site and the team had to look for evidences in the destroyed area. It was also reported that the pump was being run by the owner’s nephew.

The cables found on the spot showed clear evidences of tampering. A board was also hung at the pump declaring it as under renovation.
