The Fiction

Mama, a horror movie made in 2013, speaks of two girls, sisters – who after being abandoned in the forests, are looked after by a paranormal being.

Subsequently, when they are discovered after a few years, at the behest and efforts by the immediate family, seem to have been brought up in a very different manner, walking on all four limbs and jumping from one place to another like animals.  Eating from the floor and completely scared of humans.

The girls are then bought to a psychiatrist, and treated accordingly…how the movie proceeds through its story and culmination is another thing – but now we have a similar situation at hand in the jungles of Uttar Pradesh.

The Fact

2 months back, a girl was found by police, in the jungles of Katarniaghat, Bahraich, UP.

She was found to be having feral habits, was walking and behaving like animals.  Even the food was being eaten by her, directly from the floor where it was served.  She had marks all over her body and was unable to understand human language.

The girl was kept under observation and according to Dr. DK Singh, Chief Medical Officer, she has been living with animals for a long time now, and after all these weeks of guidance, she is showing signs of improvement.  How she got into the jungles, is going to be a mystery, as there is no communication element.
