Udaipur man arrested with Rs 1.5 Cr gold from Ratlam

Udaipur man Dev Kishan Joshi (24) along with his colleague Mahesh Bangali (28) from Mumbai were arrested yesterday from Ratlam station for carrying 6.7 Kg gold jewellery estimated at Rs 1.5 Cr.

Udaipur man Dev Kishan Joshi (24) along with his colleague Mahesh Bangali (28) from Mumbai were arrested yesterday from Ratlam station for carrying 6.7 Kg gold jewellery estimated at Rs 1.5 Cr.

Government Railway Police (GRP) received a tip-off that two youth were carrying huge amount of jewellery near platform No 5. The duo were arrested on suspicion of carrying stolen jewellery and were taken to local court from where they were sent to judicial remand.

The duo were arrested as they were waiting to board the Bandra-Dehradun Express. When the GRP team questioned the duo to produce valid documents that the jewelries belonged to them, they were unable to do so.

The accused were carrying 112 gold ornaments including chain, necklaces and earings including 18 thick gold necklaces.
