Vijay Mallya, who is wanted in India for loan defaults of over Rs 9000 Crore among other credit defaults, has taken a dig at the media saying that there is an intense hate campaign against him. He said that though the Indian government has filed a case and it is before a UK Court, Mallya claims that he has enough evidence to plead his case.
At the other end, delay in evidence from the Indian end, has prompted the Judge at the Court to take a jibe at India saying that it has been 6 months already and nothing has moved in the last 6 weeks. The delay in providing evidence is expected to take the next hearing to next year.
As per media reports, Aaron Watkins representing India in court accepted that there has been a delay and that the Court Prosecution Services requires an additional 3-4 weeks time to receive evidence from India, that will lead to Mallya’s extradition.
