U.S. Department of defence has release a drone footage showing the dropping of the mother of all bomb MOAB (Massive Ordinance Air Blast) on their twitter handle. The department said that the strike was designed for minimising risk to Afghan and American forces.

The video footage depicts the devastation caused by the 11-ton yield bomb. MOAB was dropped from a MC-130 aircraft using a pellet. A large mushroom cloud of smoke was formed over the region and a huge crater left in its wake

MOAB is the most powerful non-nuclear bomb that USA has ever used combat. It was dropped by the US aircraft on IS tunnels in Nangarhar province.

As per preliminary reports, MOAB killed 36 Islamic State militants and destroyed their base.
