Bihar Assembly Election Phase One: 53.77% Voter Turnout Till 3:00pm

Counting and results on November 14; more than 7.42 crore voters to decide fate of 1,314 candidates across 243 seats

Nov 6, 2025 – Bihar went to the polls today with voters across 18 districts of 121 Assembly constituencies turning out to vote in the first phase of the election to choose the next State Government. The second phase will be held on November 11 with the remaining 122 seats up for grabs in a fiercely-contested election which is being considered crucial for both the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Mahagathbandhan.  

A crucial triangular contest is on between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United) led-NDA, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Indian National Congress-led (INC) Mahagathbandhan and Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party.

A total of 7.42 crore voters will decide the fate of 1,314 candidates in 243 seats when the results are declared on November 14. Key names to watch out for are INDIA bloc's Chief Ministerial face Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Mangal Pandey of the BJP and JD(U)s Shravan Kumar and Vijay Kumar Choudhary.

“Today Bihar celebrates the first phase of the festival of democracy. Му appeal to all voters of this phase in the assembly elections is that they should vote with full enthusiasm,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a post on X.

Till 1:00 pm, the voter turnout was recorded at 53.77%. Thile Patna recorded the lowest turnout till the said hour, Begusarai led with the maximum turnout.

From among the assembly constituencies, Minapur has registered the maximum voter turnout of 64.72% till 3pm. Rajeev Kumar alias Munna Yadav of the RJD is the MLA from Minapur AC.
