In a concerning incident, bio-medical waste, including urine bags, was discovered dumped along Shobhagpura 100 Feet Road, prompting swift action from the medical department. CMHO Dr. Shankar H. Bamaniya addressed the issue, stating that the waste was generated from a hospital and irresponsibly discarded on the roadside.

Upon receiving information via social media, a team from the medical department, led by Deputy Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Ankit Jain and District Program Officer Sadaqat Ahmad, swiftly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. They found 25-30 urine bags, each with a capacity of 2 litres, dumped near a hotel on the roadside.

Local shopkeepers revealed that the dumping incident occurred on June 5, and similar instances had happened in the past. Dr. Bamaniya emphasized the seriousness of the matter, declaring that an investigation would be launched to identify those responsible for the illegal disposal of bio-medical waste.

Furthermore, Dr. Bamaniya warned that legal action would be taken against anyone found guilty of improper disposal practices. The medical department plans to scrutinize bio-medical waste certificates of nearby private hospitals to ensure compliance with waste segregation rules.
