Blood Bank accumulates 600 units after 3 years
With the collaborative efforts made by the various societies and institutes, the blood bank at MB hospital now boasts of 600 units of blood that are available to the needy without any replacement required.
With the collaborative efforts made by the various societies and institutes, the blood bank at MB hospital now boasts of 600 units of blood that are available to the needy without any replacement required.
The doctors mentioned that this situation has come after almost 3 years. The patients who are admitted to the hospital plus the ones who ask for blood from outside; 60% of them are being provided blood without the need of replacement.
Blood bank in charge Kamal Chandra Veerwal said that the present situation may persist for the coming 3 months. The upcoming camps on 16th and 26th January are slated to be organised in the city besides 10 big blood camps. With the collection, the patients will not suffer the deficiency of blood for the next 3 months.
Also, the number of Thalassemia kids, which are 700 registered in the city, who were going for treatment at private hospitals will be provided blood from MB Hospital.
The vast organisational help from Terapanth Yuva Parishad, Lions Club, Chordia Institute, Sindhi and Sikh community, Lakecity Kidney Care & Relief Foundation, Sakal Rajput Mahasabha Mewar, Marwari Yuva Manch, Abha Eye Donation Group, Happy to Help, Rotary Club Udaipur and many other institutes have resulted in this commendable success.
