Boats Operation Halts Mumbaiya Bazaar

Udaipur, January 2, 2025 - The UDA has stopped the boat operations at the Mumbaiya Bazaar point on Fateh Sagar Lake after the contract with the firm ended. Security guards were stationed throughout the day on December 31, 2024, to inform tourists about the halt and redirect them to other points.

Outstanding Dues of 3.50 Crore
The firm operating the boats, Shri Ramdev General Motors, has outstanding dues of 3.50 crore. The UDA officials have told the firm that boat operations will not resume until the outstanding dues and advance amount are paid.

Uncertainty Over Recovery
This firm has the highest unpaid balance. The firm says it hasn't paid because the UDA didn't keep its promises in the contract. It is unclear how the unpaid amount will be recovered since the firm's security deposit and equipment aren't enough to cover it.

Request for Additional Time Rejected
The firm has requested additional time for 151 days when the boats were not operational during the three years. However, UDA officials have rejected this request, stating that it does not align with the rules.

The firm has objected to the outstanding dues and has not yet deposited the required money. After the contract ended on December 31, 2024, the UDA stopped boat operations at the site.
