Unauthorized film shoot at Gangaur Ghat raises safety and environmental concerns

Ambrai Ghat

Udaipur, March 1, 2025 - An unauthorized film shoot at Gangaur Ghat has sparked safety and environmental concerns. Recently, the use of two boats was approved without a proper jetty at Gangaur Ghat, leading to unsafe boarding practices. Additionally, sacks of soil and sand were dumped into the lake during the shoot, contaminating the water. Municipal officials deny granting any permission for the shoot and claim ignorance of these activities.

This led to actors and crew members boarding and deboarding directly from the ghat, significantly increasing the risk of accidents. The sacks remained in the water even after the completion of the filming, posing environmental hazards.

Upon inquiry, officials from the Municipal Corporation categorically denied issuing any permissions for the film shoot. They also expressed unawareness regarding the unauthorized use of boats without a jetty and the dumping of materials into the lake. This discrepancy raises questions about the oversight and regulation of such activities in the area.
