Tourists will soon be able to ply from one ghat to other at lake Pichola and also undertake a trip from lake Swaroop Sagar to lake Pichola via a boat taxi. UMC has initiated the tendering process for the same.

The boat taxi will ply every hour from Dudh talai to Swaroop Sagar- Fateh Sagar link canal via Lal Ghat, Manjhi Mandir ghat and Swaroop Sagar. Boats will also be able to run general lake rides for tourists.

The one-way rates that have been fixed for the boat taxi for Indian nationals are as follows:

• Going from one ghat to other in lake Pichola : Rs 100
• Going from one jetty to other in lake Swaroop Sagar : Rs 100
• Pichola to Swaroop Sagar – Fateh Sagar link canal : Rs 350

UMC is expecting an income of Rs 2.5 Cr from the tender. Technical bid for the tender will be opened on 23-Jan-2019.
