Spate of bomb threats hit Indian airlines; 250 flights affected over 11 days

Udaipur, October 25, 2024: Yesterday, October 24, a bomb threat was reported on the Delhi-Udaipur-Ahmedabad flight. As a result, the flight had to make an emergency landing at Maharana Pratap Airport in Dabok, Udaipur.

All passengers were immediately moved to a safe location away from the aircraft. All bags onboard were checked with the help of a sniffer dog squad.

According to information, the incident occurred around 3:20 pm. However, during inspection, no suspicious items were found on the aircraft.

This flight operates between Delhi and Ahmedabad with a stop in Udaipur.

A bomb threat was reported on a Vistara flight coming from Mumbai around 1:33 pm. By this time the flight had already landed. The aircraft was moved to an isolation area, and both passengers and their luggage were throughly checked. Later, the flight was allowed to proceed to Mumbai.

Yesterday, as per news reports, bomb threats to Indian airlines intensified with more than 80 flights receiving threats. According to sources, 13 aircraft operated by Akasa Air were targeted, and 20 planes operated by Vistara, IndiGo, and Air India each got threats. Threats were also sent to five Alliance Air and SpiceJet planes each.

Over the course of 11 days, the total number of such threats has surpassed 250.
