Brave Act- Civil Defence jawan and a labourer save a woman from drowning

-The old woman slipped into the lake in an attempt to wash her hands.

-A Civil Defence Jawan and a labourer proved to be her saving angels.

A woman fell into Lake Pichola and was fortunate enough to have saving angels around. She was at Gangaur Ghat for offering her prayers to the deity. While she was making an attempt to wash her hands at the ghat, she lost balance, slipped on the stairs of the lake and fell into the lake.

Fortunately people saw her falling and shouted for help. A Civil Defence personnel Mahipal Panwar, who was at Dai ji ki Pulia, heard the cries and rushed to Gangaur Ghat. He saw that this woman was drowning almost 5 feet away from the stairs at the ghat.

A labourer working in the Hanuman Temple also saw this and both of them jumped into the lake to save the old woman. The woman was pulled out of the lake in no time but she had fainted by then. The Civil Defence jawan put his training on first aid to use and drained the water out of the woman's stomach and then took her to the hospital.

Mahipal said that his training on providing first aid proved to be extremely helpful in this case. The old woman did not regain senses even after the water was taken out but since her pulse was back to normal, he rushed her to the hospital in an autorickshaw.  ECG and X-Ray were done at the hospital. She resumed consciousness after half an hour.

Kudos to the labourer and the Civil Defence personnel for saving a person from drowning. Their quick action means a lot.
