Dead included an infant - family was travelling back to Vadodra after a short Diwali break to Udaipur

Four people including an infant were killed and 3 seriously injured, as their car crashed into a stationary truck on the Udaipur Ahmebadad Highway early morning on Tuesday. Family belonged to Vadodra, Gujarat
4 people from a family died and 3 were seriously injured in a fatal accident on National Highway #8, leading to Ahmedabad from Udaipur.  The accident happened early morning today, ie 29 October.

A family of Gujarati tourists travelling from Udaipur to Ahmedabad in their car, crashed into a truck which was stationary.  The accident happened at Parsad, near Peepli village, close to a roadside restaurant.

Police rushed to the spot and the car passengers were taken to hospital.  4 people were declared dead and the remainin 3 were referred to Udaipur's MB Hospital for treatment.  All 7 belonged to one family from Vadodra. The accident was sever and the car was crushed, causing immediate death of 4 of the passengers.

As per reports, the driver had a momentary loss of concentration and failed to see a stationary truck on the road.  Before he could control the steering, the car crashed into the truck.  An infant was among the 4 killed in the accident.  The accident resulted in a long traffic jam on the over busy highway.

Udaipur has been the favorite destination for tourists in the Diwali and Winter breaks, specially for those vacationers from Gujarat and Maharashtra.  Tourists flood the city of lakes during Diwali and the trip is usually combined with a visit to the Nathdwara Srinathji Temple and Eklingji temple.
