In an event that would put Udaipur in the world’s centre stage, meeting of the BRICS Ministers for Disaster Management has been scheduled to be held here in August.

As per the calendar on the BRICS website, the meeting has been scheduled for 22-23 August 2016. Udaipur will play host to ministers from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS).

Disaster Management meetings are organised to design strategies for looking into mechanisms of interaction in the provision of assistance in case of emergencies, as well as putting into practice of advanced technologies and effective insurance tools. The disaster management centre was formed to enhance cooperation on technology and innovation for natural disasters reduction among BRICS nations

A high level discussion was organised for the same on Friday with participation from District Collector Rohit Gupta to ensure smooth organisation of the meeting.
