B.S.N.L Employees Protest, Nationwide Strike in Sight

More than 20 employees of B.S.N.L went on a protest outside the Managing Directors office at B.S.N.L, Hiran Magri today.

This protest was registered on the call of the BSNL Employees Union and United Front, to protest against the alleged discriminatory policies of the B.S.N.L Management.

This protest was registered on the call of the BSNL Employees Union and United Front, to protest against the alleged discriminatory policies of the B.S.N.L Management.

Arun Nigam, District Convenor of the United Front said that the B.S.N.L Management, citing bad financial health of the entity and has reduced allowances, bonus, medical benefits, LTC and other allowances. In addition, the Dearness Allowance added to their wages has been reduced to 68.8% from the promised 78.2%.

However, at the same time, said Arun Nigam, the Management has also decided to remunerate the ITS Officers who are on Non-Optees Deputation with B.S.N.L with the previously agreed amounts, adding a further burden of Rs. 300 Crore on B.S.N.L.

It was also said that if an amicable settlement is not reached with the workers unions then all the employees of B.S.N.L across the country will resort to an indefinite strike from 13th June.

During the lunch break, while the protest was on, the officers and workers participated in large numbers in a gathering that was addressed by R.K Khokhavat, District Secrateary and Devilal Chandel, President, AIBSNLEA, Anand Singh Parihar, District Secretary, and P. Nanda, President, SNIEA, Arun Nigam, District Secretary, Ajab Singh, Jujhar Hussain, Mehmud Khan, Hari Om, C.P Singh, Rafiq Mohammad, Joint Secretary, BSNLEU, Zahur Muhammad from NFTE and many more.

While addressing the gathering they criticized the discriminatory policies of the Management and asked the employees to be prepared towards a possibly long struggle for protecting their interests and rights.
