Udaipur, Oct 25, 2025 – Gold and silver prices are witnessing a sharp decline after the rally before Diwali. Prices have fallen over the past four days worrying investors who had invested in gold and silver around the festival period with the expectation that the metals’ bullish momentum will continue. After reaching record levels, silver prices have now returned to the levels of 24 days ago, and gold prices to those of 17 days ago.

This decline is being seen as coming on the back of a fall in international prices of the bullion owing to easing of investor tension and profit booking after recent peaks, a stronger US dollar and improved risk sentiment. Silver has also seen a sharp price correction over the past few days but, the redeeming factor is that it has given 67% returns since the start of 2025.

Gold Futures dropped to Rs 121, 400 while silver Futures hit Rs 145,080. Gold has closed lower in four of the last six sessions amid selling, dropping 4.42% of its value, and is on track to record its first weekly decline in nine weeks.

During last year’s Diwali, the price of pure silver was Rs 96,980 per kilogram and the price of standard gold was Rs 80,100 per tola. However, just before this year’s Diwali, the price of pure silver had risen to Rs 1,76,500 per kilogram and the price of standard gold to Rs 1,28,000 per tola. Thus, within a year, silver prices increased by about Rs 80,000 and gold prices by about Rs 48,000. As a result, those who invested in these metals a year ago made substantial profits.

Today, domestic physical rates: 24-carat gold in India is trading near Rs 12,435 per gram (≈ Rs 1,24,360 per 10 gm).
