A bus driver has been arrested for stealing diesel from roadways bus on Thursday.

Chief Executive of Udaipur depot Mahesh Upadhyaya reported that he was inspecting the Roadways bus stand in morning around 8 a.m.  He got the information that someone was stealing diesel from bus in the parking area. Upon getting this information, he reached the parking area with Supervisor Anish Mohammed and Zardar Khan.

In the parking lot, they found that diesel was stolen from a bus belonging to Abu Road depot. They checked the bus for more details and found 12 litres of diesel in a can. There were a few empty cans also in the bus. The matter was reported in Surajpole police station. The bus driver was arrested and he confessed having committed the crime of stealing diesel from the bus.

Fuel tanks are filled on the basis of kilometres. This way there are very meek chances of fuel theft. But the bus drivers play smart and use the neutral gear while on the ghat section. This way they save fuel consumption, but driving this way is actually very risky. These bus drivers save fuel using the neutral gear and take out the diesel from the tank and sell it in the market to make extra money.

Such matters concerning Udaipur roadways depot have been reported earlier as well. Roadways employees have also faced punishments regarding such matters.
