CM Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal to set up Cattle Feed Plants in Udaipur and Nathdwara in Rajsamand on March 24, 2023. With this decision more quantity of cattle feed will be produced in the state. Quality feed will be easily available for the animals. The amount of establishing this will be spent through the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT).
A research was carried out by the in which it is stated that livestocks are highly proficient users of available biomass as they consume grasses and other plants which otherwise cannot be consumed by humans but animals can in order to convert it to a range of valuable products like meat, wool, milk, leather, manure and draught powder.
The merging between crops and animals not only enhances agricultural productivity, but also improves household food intake and income and provides a buffer against climate risks. It is noteworthy that the Budget 2023-24 includes the establishment of a Cattle Feed Plant.
