CBSE Opens Portal on June 2

After days of continuous attacks on the authenticity and reliability of the OSM system of evaluation, the portal and the re-evaluaiton process, the CBSE finally opened the portal for students on June 2. The students who had already got copie of their answerbooks, can now query and apply for anomalies such as missing pages, missing supplementary sheets, blurred scans of answer sheets, mismatched answer copies and also seek re-evaluation of specific answers. The new site for this process is https://www.cbse.gov.in/newsite_old/rchk.html

Denial-of-Service Attack

The CBSE said on its X handle that among the cyber attacks there were denial of service attack attempts, that generated nearly 1.5 million hits on the portal and nearly 1 lakh attempts of unauthorised file access.

The CBSE also said that the Board's IT team had refined the platform, including extended session time limits so that the process becomes more convenient and seamless, based on student feedback.

Why Portal Access Was Delayed

In the recent days, the CBSE evaluation system, portal concerns and complaints from students related to scanned answer books, payment failures, quality of scanned answer books had come under attack. Independent researchers and ethical hackers primariliy students themselves, had highlighted vulnerabilities. The CBSE team then delayed the opening of the portal to ensure a more robust system. Expert teams from IITs and other and members of specialist government agencies lent a helping hand in strenthening the system, said the CBSE.

The portal will remain open till June 6. All payments will only be accepted in online mode.
