Chalet Hotels Acquires Udaipur Resort at Rs 171 Crore

Chalet Hotels enters Rajasthan with Rs 171 crore acquisition of Inder Residency Resort & Spa, Udaipur; plans premium upgrade and expansion by 2026

Udaipur, April 25, 2026 - Chalet Hotels Ltd. has approved the acquisition of Seasons Hotels Pvt. Ltd. which owns the Inder Residency Resort & Spa, Udaipur, at a deal value of about Rs 171 crore. Acquisition will be done via 100% equity purchase in tranches, expected completion by mid-May 2026. The Udaipur resort has around 144 rooms and is located in a prime leisure destination in the city.

This marks Chalet Hotels’ entry into Rajasthan, shifting from a business-hotel-heavy portfolio to leisure destinations, especially Udaipur which is a major tourism and wedding destination. Udaipur is seen as a premium hospitality market, making the acquisition strategically attractive. The move is part of the company's strategy to expand into high-growth leisure markets, beyond its traditional business hotels in metros.

Chalet plans to upgrade and reposition the property into an upscale, premium lifestyle destination. It is likely to expand room inventory and enhance the asset. The hotel may be temporarily closed during refurbishment. At the moment, Chalet Hotels is in talks with with the concerned parties charting out  definitive agreements.

The initial proposal was announced on December 2025 and the Board formally approved the acquisition on April 24, 2026. Deal completion target is set at May 2026.
