It was also noticed that the masks were kept in inhygenic way and sanitisers were not available at many places.

A sudden inspection by the health department was done on Friday wherein the chemists were held for selling masks and sanitisers at a higher price. Also some of the shops did not have sanitisers and some had kept the masks in inhygenic conditions.

The health department formed 3 teams to find the facts behind the news of the masks being sold at a much higher price. It was informed that the step has been taken to stop the black-marketing of masks and sanitisers. It s quite a known fact that the fear of coronavirus has increased the sale of masks and sanitisers and this resulted in these products going short. As a result the chemists started selling the masks at a higher rate.

Team 1 inspected the medical stores at hospital road and found that some of them did not have sanitisers and the masks were being sold between 20 rupees and 35 rupees. Some of the stores did not have either of the products with them.
Team 2 inspected the medical stores in front of the satellite hospital in Sector 6. Some of the stores did not have any of the supplies, some had both.
Team 3 inspected the medical stores Fatehpura area. It was discovered that the masks were being sold at 20 rupees and 30 rupees each and were not kept in a hygenic way.

All the stores have been warned and directed to have ample supplies of masks and sanitisers. If at all anyone is found without these necessary products, action would be taken against them.
