The Three Day State level Chess competition began today on May 18, under the auspices of the All Rajputana Chess Championship Committee.

The Three Day State level Chess competition began today on May 18, under the auspices of the All Rajputana Chess Championship Committee.

Jaipur held to its position on the top at the end of the first day of the Tournament, which is being held at Shramjivi College.

In the first round of the Championship Ojas Shukla from Udaipur beat an FIDE rated participant from Jodhpur.

Program secretary and Trainer Vikas Sahu said, “In the Championship there are more than 72 participants from Jaipur, Jhodhpur, Chittorgarh, Ajmer and Udaipur, etc. out of which, 15 are international FIDE rated champions”. 

Dr. Dilip Singh Chouhan, Program Coordinator informed that Dr. Pradeep Kumar Punjabi, Dean Kala Sankaay; Dr. Hemendra Chuodhary, Asst. Professor were the Chief Guests and Mohammad Arif, National Coach of Chess from Jodhpur was the Guest of Honor.

According to coaches Rishi Salvi and Vikram Ameta, the results of the second round were as follows:

In the Under 11 years age Category, Anil Jain, Kartik Surik and Ahan Malhotra from Jaipur and Akshita Jain, Vandan Lodha, Bhavya Pandia, Devanshu Chechani, Dhruv Dank, Prabhav Maheshwari, Anirudh Jain,Adiya Bhardwaj, Palav Choudhary, Divyanshu Babel from Udaipur got 2 points and Rohan Shinghvi from Jodhpur and Yashuwardhan Karnawat from Jaipur are leading by achieving point each.

In the Under-17 years age category, Udaipur’s Yash Purohit, Harshit Sharma, Yogesh Hinger, Mudit Babel, Yogansh Shukla, Ujjawal Soni (2 points), Monika Sahu, Shubhani Kapoor, Nikhil Yadav, Chayal Dureja (1.5 points) and Bhavya Sharma, Smridhi Mehra and Svayan Bhargava are maintaining the lead against Anirudh Sharma and Rishabh Saxena of Jodhpur.

The next session is going to start at 8am on 19th May and the Under 7 age category competition will commence at 9am.
