Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announces Section 144 in Rajasthan

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, in his Coronavirus review meeting today, announced imposition of Section 144 across the state of Rajasthan.

This will be applicable till  March 31, as the first phase of protection and control over the situation that has developed in the state as well as across the country and globally.

Though  Rajasthan is one of the lesser affected states till now, it is imminent that protection and control at this stage be emphasised in whatever form so as to mitigate the risk of spread of this virus.

The orders from the State government have been circulated across the state and district magistrates and relvant offices have been asked to issue the necessary orders.

Ashok Gehlot was taking a review meeting of the states preparedness toward the spread of the pandemic COVID19. In his statement to the attendees and Press, he said that at this point in time, it is the governments duty to ensure protection for its citizens.  He added that places of religious worship should also announce that Section 144 will be imposed with immediate effect and gathering of more than 5 people at a place will not be permitted till further orders.  This will be in place till March 31, as the first phase.

Further to the previous orders for closure of schools, colleges, malls, theaters, etc. the CM has further issued orders that the schools should also not hold Parent Teacher meetings in school. No new admission processes will be allowed in schools till 31 March.  This is applicable to all government and private schools in the state.
