2 children were rescued from a restaurant at 80 feet road. The restaurant owner has been arrested. Anti Human Trafficking Unit rescued 2 children from Gopal Restaurant on 80 feet road on Monday. The restaurant owner Ishwar Teli s/o Jagannath Teli resident of Sajjan Nagar was arrested in this case.

Unit Head Hanuwant Singh Bhati said that these children were doing cleaning work as well as other difficult tasks in the restaurant. They were made to work from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. for minimum wages. Basically this was a case of physical and mental exploitation of children.

Call 1098

Hanuwant Singh Bhati appealed to people that in case of any such information of child labour, call on 1098. It is illegal to make minor children work as labour. Child Line performs surveys in town and if any child labour case comes to notice, immediate action is taken against the particular firm or company.

In the past 8 years, 1043 children were freed from the clutches of people who forced them to work as child labour. These 250 people have also been arrested under Anti Human Trafficking Act. Some time back, children who were smuggled to Gujarat to work in cotton fields were also rescued and the field owners were arrested.
