4 children who were orphaned after their parents passed away have been provided shelter by Child Welfare Committee (CWC). It may be noted that the father of these 4 children died due to some illness following which the mother also died after 20 days. The mother was in a state of shock after the father’s death.

When CWC got information about these orphaned children, they rushed to the area where the colony residents were looking after them. The four children Kishan Singh (11 years), Payal (8), Yashraj (5) and Prakash (3) were being taken care of by the Akashwani colony members in Madri after the parents died. When CWC team and police reached to take action in this matter, the women of the colony became emotional and started questioning the police and CWC. Only after getting the assurance of proper care, shelter and schooling facilities the neighbours let the teams take the children away. While bidding farewell, the women even started weeping and requested the CWC team to arrange meetings with the colony residents from time to time. They also gave clothes to the children.

As per the CWC team, the house in which Shiv Singh and Deepika Kunwar (the deceased couple) lived was owned by them. They had borrowed merely 2500 rupees from someone while Shiv Singh was undergoing treatment for his illness and the papers were taken away by this money lender. CWC has asked police to get the property papers back from the lender.

The deceased couple had married against the wish of their families, hence none of the relatives turned up when they died.
