Do not fall for fake news that children above 12 years of age can be vaccinated.

Currently citizens above the age of 18 are eligible for vaccination.

Social media keeps overflowing with fake news as people craving for publicity think it is their profession and their duty to stay in news by constantly posting stuff and it does not matter to them how their post will affect the masses.

One such news that confused the public is about covid vaccination. This piece of news that has been doing rounds over social media is about vaccination of children above 12 years of age. The tweet claims that Covaxin (Bharat BioTech) has been approved for children above 12 years.

Fact check proves that this news is absolutely fake and no vaccination towards covid has yet been approved for children above 12 years of age. Currently citizens above 18 years of age are eligible for vaccination. (This fact check has been done by PIB).

The vaccines approved by India are Covishield, Covaxin and Sputnik V and all these are for people above the age of 18 and not below 18 as approved by government of India.
