Chipko Movement fame Chandi Prasad addresses Vidyapeeth Students

Prominent social activist and environmentalist Chandi Prasad Bhatt who is also a founder of the Chipko Movement and awarded with prestigious Padma Bhushan and Ramon Magsaysay Awards addressed students and faculties of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth.

Prominent social activist and environmentalist Chandi Prasad Bhatt who is also a founder of the Chipko Movement and awarded with prestigious Padma Bhushan and Ramon Magsaysay Awards addressed students and faculties of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth.

Bhatt was speaking as the key note speaker and chief guest in the special program organized to mark Teacher’s Day. Emphasizing on the importance of teacher, Chandi Prasad Bhatt said that, “The role of education is most important in building the character of any individual.”

He said, “Quality education will help in building good society and further escalate the development of a country.”

“An imagination of better society could be done on the basis of nation’s need, historical background, social, economical and cultural values. And, education is the only way to fulfill these needs, which we receive through a capable teacher.”

On topic of present education scenario and state of teachers, Bhatt said, “India should make strong education system like other countries. We need such an education system which can produce students of high moral character.”

The seminar was organized at Vidyapeeth’s Computer Science and IT Auditorium, Pratap Nagar.

Chancellor of Vidyapeeth, Professor Bhawani Shankar Garg also addressed the audience and spoke about quality education and teachers-students relations. Vice Chancellor Prof. S.S. Sarangdewot headed the program.

60 teachers of Vidyapeeth were also honored in the program today.
