Nov 24, 2025 – A major disaster was averted at Delhi airport on Sunday after reportedly an Ariana Afghan flight from Kabul landed on the runway meant for departures, according to a report in the Times of India. Fortunately, there were no aircraft on that runway at that time.

Quoting sources the report says the incident happened at around noon on November 23 when an Afghan Airbus flight FG 311, which was cleared for landing on runway 29L (meant for landing), landed instead on 29R (meant for take off).

Aviation authorities are investigating the error.  According to the ToI report, an aircraft was scheduled to take off from 29R but was not on the runway at that time.
