Udaipur Collector Anandi imposed a curfew in Ashok Nagar area of Udaipur. This area falls under Bhupalpura Police station and is one of the main roads of Udaipur connecting the city to the university and industrial area of Udaipur. The curfew was imposed vide the DM orders on 10 May. This curfew will be effective till 24 May.
The oders came in the wake of the exponential rise in the number of cases in the city. Though Ashok Nagar and Bhupalpura both have one case each, the number of cases in Udaipur have closed at 133 on 10 May, after a weekend blast from 22 to 100 in a period of less than 36 hours.
Collector's curfew orders were followed by orders that effected a seamless supply of essentials (milk ration and vegetables) to the residents of the curfew zones.
A team of suppliers and vehicles has been consolidated by the district administration, which will cater to supplying essential items to the curfew areas. 35 vehicles, managed by 37 milk vendors, 27 vegetable vendors with as many vehicles and 40 kirana (grocery vendors) with 16 vehicles will supply essentials to the curfew areas in Udaipur.
