Rajasthan and largely India had their eyes fixed on what transpires in the most awaited assembly sesssion in Rajasthan.

The month long political drama ended today at 4pm when the Ashok Gehlot led Rajasthan government of the Congress won its motion of confidence by voice vote. The house has been adjourned till 21 August.

During the electric sesison, the ex Dy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and MLA from Tonk, Sachin Pilot hit out at the BJP for their criticism of the political drama in Rajasthan. He said that he was the strongest warrior in the Congress and said that he would protect the party at all costs.

"Despite various attempts by the opposition to topple us, the result is in our favour - the vote of confidence that was brought by the government has been passed with a very good majority today in the house" - Sachin Pilot, MLA, Tonk.

Shanti Dhariwal, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister also hit out to the Centre, blaming them for the political coups in Manipur, Madhya Pradesh and Goa and said that a similar approach by them in Rajasthan did not materialise.

"A roadmap has been prepared for all the issues that were being raised. I have complete faith, that roadmap will be announced timely" - Sachin Pilot, MLA, Tonk

Responding to Kataria's allegations of phone tapping, Gehlot said that there has never been a tradition of phone tapping of MPs and MLAs in Rajasthan and nothing such transpired even now. Kataria had also alleged that the Congress was trying to blame the BJP for the political turmoil even when it was apparent that the issues were within the Congress. He added that the wounds were fresh and there was still internal rift within the party (read Gehlot - Pilot), which wil come out once again and destablise the government.

In response to Kataria's allegation of misusing the state police and SOG, Gehlot said that the central government has been using central agencies like Enforcement Directorate, CBI and Income Tax department to serve their political ends.
