Committee issues instructions for new proposals for development of existing and new reservoirs
Udaipur, November 20, 2024 - A meeting of the Lake Development Committee was held yesterday at Udaipur Collectorate to discuss prevention of encroachment of the water bodies in the region including Badi Talab and Bada Madar. Conservation plans were presented by the Water Resources Department which were approved in the meeting. Instructions were also issued to prepare proposals for new reservoirs.
The meeting was chaired by Udaipur District Collector Arvind Poswal. Municipal Commissioner and Member Secretary of the Committee, Ram Prakash, discussed the proposals. The approved proposals will be forwarded to the Lake Development Authority for further action.
The Committee also discussed the conservation of other reservoirs in the district, including Lakhawali, Chhota Madar, Goverdhan Sagar, Jogi Talab, Daya and Som Kagdar. Instructions were given to prepare conservation and development proposals for these water sources as well.
Also present at the meeting were District Council ACEO Anjum Tahir Sama, superintending engineer of Water Resources Department Manoj Jain, executive engineer Rameshchandra Chauradia, Tourism deputy director Shikha Saxena, Fisheries Department deputy director Dr Aqeel Ahmed, Municipal Corporation executive engineer Lakhanlal Bairwa, DTP Sirajuddin, UDA AEN Rahul Chanderiya and Pollution Control Board representative Kunjbihari Paliwal.
