A police constable posted at Bhais Road Garh police station of Chittorgarh district died on the spot after a bullet accidentally got fired from his own service rifle while unloading it on Tuesday morning, said SP Chittorgarh Rajan Dushyant.

The slain constable Chetram Gurjar (35) was on his night duty at the police, after completing his duty he was unloading his service rifle when suddenly it got fired and the bullet hit him on the face and he died on the spot. The entire staff of police station got stunned after the incident and the constable was rushed to the hospital by the team where he was declared dead.soon the Sp Chittorgarh along with the FSL team rushed to the police station where the FSL team had collected samples from the scene.

Sp Rajan Dushyant Said "The constable Chetram was on his night duty on the gate of the police station since 2 o'clock to 5.30 am with a loaded rifle, when he changing the duty with another constable the incident occurred that took his life. Initially it appears to be an accident but the investigation of the matter os on and the investigation report will reveal weather it was am accident or a suicide".
