Boats operating from Dudh Talai side of Lake Pichola were stopped by Municipal Corporation on Friday following a new tender process for boating operations. A tender was passed more than a year back for boat operations in Lake Pichola which was dragged to court because of some disputes between the contractors. Following this, it was then decided that no new tenders would be passed and the existing contract would be renewed which grew month by month. This contract was with Yash Amusement Company.

This contract ended on 31st December 2018. Meanwhile as per new court orders, Municipal Corporation started the tender process again. This became the reason behind stopping boat operations on Friday. All boats and jetties were locked up by chains and the booking windows were also seized. On the other hand, Yash Amusement Company has objected to this act of Municipal Corporation.
