Udaipur Kicks Off Rajasthan’s First Cooperative Bike Rental Service

New supermarket opened in Hiran Magri Sector 14 to offer quality food at fair prices under cooperative retail chain

Udaipur, June 30, 2025 - On the occasion of UN's Declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives, Rajasthan launched its first cooperative bike-on-rent service, named Co-Op Ride, in Udaipur. The service was flagged off on June 28 by Minister of State of Cooperative & Civil Aviation Department Gautam Kumar Dak at Sector 14, Udaipur.

This is the first time such a service has been launched in Rajasthan’s cooperative sector by Udaipur Bhandar. 

Co-Op Ride, is aimed at supporting tourism development and providing reliable services to tourists. The Minister said this initiative will offer an affordable transportation option for both locals and tourists. The service is especially beneficial for youth, students, tourists and daily commuters.

The Cooperative Department is moving forward with the mission of “Prosperity Through Cooperation,” in celebration of the International Year of Cooperatives.

The inauguration event was graced by several distinguished guests including District Head Mamta Kunwar, Deputy District Head Pushkar Teli, Chairperson of Udaipur Mahila Samriddhi Urban Cooperative Bank Kiran Jain, president of Udaipur Milk Producers Cooperative Union Dhanal Chand Dangi, Councillor Santosh Menaria, social workers Pramod Samar, Gajpal Singh Rathore, Takhat Singh Shaktawat, Bhawarsingh, Sagar Soni, Amritlal Menaria, Revashankar Gayari, Sunil Chaudhary, Devilal Salvi, Deepak Sharma and others.

Minister Dak also participated in the "One Tree in Mother's Name" campaign by planting a sapling.

Supermarket Also Inaugurated

Minister Dak also inaugurated a new Cooperative Supermarket of Udaipur Cooperative Consumer Wholesale Bhandar Limited in Hiran Magri Sector 14. He emphasised that the primary objective of the consumer store is to provide quality food items at reasonable prices to the public.

Udaipur Bhandar is actively launching such supermarkets across various areas to fulfill this goal.

Administrator of the Bhandar and Additional Registrar Gunjan Chaubey welcomed the guests and shared information about the various ongoing services and schemes for consumers.

Dr Pramod Kumar, General Manager of the Bhandar, said that based on the State Government's budget announcement, a counter has been set up in the new supermarket to provide millets-based foods as part of the Millets Food initiative. He also said the Co-Op Ride bike rental service will be made available to both tourists and locals at affordable rates.
