COVID Vaccination for Pregnant Women begins in Udaipur district from today - Get your Answers here

The District Health Department has begun the proceedings towards COVID vaccination for pregnant women. Vaccinations for pregnant women will begin across all 13 blocks of Udaipur district. The target vaccination has been kept at 100 vaccinations per day across 5 days in a week in all the 13 blocks. It is estimated that nearly 85 thousand vaccinations will be done in the next four months.

Appointment can be taken in advance

A member of the family will need to visit the nearest vaccination center and schedule the appointment, which will ensure that the women are not made to wait in queues.

Vaccination Centers

Two centers, Bhupalpura PHC (30-40 doses per day) and RNT Medical College (100 doses per day) will be conducting the vaccinations in the urban area. Centers in the rural blocks will be allocated today.

Symptoms post vaccination

The health department has suggested that the inoculated women need to monitor any symptoms that might appear within the first 20 days of the vaccination. Symptoms such as blood clots, difficulty in breathing, pain in the chest, weakness, fatigue, blurred vision, stomach pain, body pain swelling need to be reported to the doctor immediately.

Trimester considerations

Women in the second and third trimester of their pregnancy will be given preference. If the delivery happens after the first vaccine, the second dose will be given as per schedule – COVAXIN after 4-6 weeks of first dose and COVISHIELD after 12-16 weeks of first dose.
