The source of this information is All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.  We believe on social media shares and forwards, we believe in information given to us through Media; We are overwhelmed with the thousands of images, videos and text messages we have received on our phones.

Dr GULERIA, Head of ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES has clarified and debunked a few myths surrounding the diseases.  Now is the time to Trust the information shared by India's premier healthcare provider AIIMS. SO... HERE GOES...

ABOUT:

COVID19 is an infectious disease transmitted through the Novel Corona Virus (Simple)

TRANSMISSION

Inhaling the droplets released in the air by an infected person coughing or sneezing

OR

touching the surface where the droplets end up

AND

touching their face, eyes, mouth or nose...does the virus get transmitted

HOW DOES AN INFECTED PERSON HEAL

80% of those infected, will require NO TREATMENT and will recover on their OWN

Less than 20% may need hospitalisation

A Very SMALL percentage, mainly those with underlying Chronic conditions or illness may need admission in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

BUT ALL THOSE INFECTED NEED TO BE IN QUARANTINE SO AS NOT TO SPREAD THE INFECTION

AGE GROUP FACTOR

Known to occur in all age groups

Generally mild in Children

Older persons and persons with Chronic Conditions (viz. Heart Disease, Diabetrs, Cancer, Lung disease, High Blood Pressure, etc) are at HIGH RISK to develop serious illness

LIFE OF VIRUS on INFECTED SURFACE

Not certain, but the virus that causes COVID19 behaves like any other Corona virus

Life on Surface can be anything between few hourse to couple of days depending on the temperature, type of surface, humidity, etc.

Clean suspect surfaces with water or disinfectant; Wash Hands with Soap n Water or Sanitizer; Avoid touching anywhere on the face

The AIM is to PREVENT the transmission from contaminated surfaces to your hands/mouth/face/eyes

COMMON MYTHS Surrounding CORONAVIRUS
1. Does the Disease Spread through food, especially eating Chicken, Eggs and Meat?
NO...there is NO CONCLUSIVE evidence that properly cooked food transmits the disease.  This is Hype created by VEGAN community who are unethically using this platform to get across their self interests. THIS VIRUS cannot be caused by the Consumption of Meat.
2. Does the Diseas spread through Pets
NO...the transmission of disease has not been seen through pets
3. Does the Dead Body of a person infected with Coronavirus transmit the infection?
NO...there is no transmission of Coronavirus infection through the Dead Body of an infected Person
4. HOT WATER and ALCOHOL
NO... Coronavirus has nothing to do with temperature and Alcohol is NOT THE REMEDY to PREVENT it
5. VIRUS gest worse during Rain
NO... Weather conditions have nothing to do with Coronavirus. The infection has spread in warmer tropical countries as well. Only Proper Care and infection control can contain the spread of this virus.
6. Stock Piling Food
NO...there is not need for panic buying or stock piling of food. With the care that the Indian system is augmenting across the country, we will hopefully not move to next stage of community transmission.
7. Garlic and Salt Water
These have been used for a long time in relieving symptoms of cold and cough.  However, no evidene exists that these can keep out the transmission of infection or even cure.
