To spread awareness for the environment and for the rising population the forest department of Udaipur has come up with a novel idea of organizing a cycle rally on 11 July – The World Population Day.

 

To spread awareness for the environment and for the rising population the forest department of Udaipur has come up with a novel idea of organizing a cycle rally on 11 July – The World Population Day.

As per the scheduled program a cycle rally will be conducted by the forest department on 11 July 2011 which will start at 6:45 AM from Chetak Circle through fatehsagar and ending at Moti Magri.

Cycle Rally on World Population Day (July 11)In order to make the initiative a fruitful affair the forest department has urged the udaipurites to actively participate and has also declared a lucky draw wherein the winners will be awarded with a bicycle and many other attractive gifts.

The event will be attended by Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Prof. I.V Trivedi – Vice Chancellor, Mrs. Rajni Dangi – Chairman, Municipal Corporation, and Mr. Hemant Gera – Collector, Udaipur city and many other who’s who of the city… Many a NGOs has shown interest to make the initiative a success.

“We are taking world population day with the theme of environment so that people could get aware about the importance of the subject… It is also important for our coming generations” N.C Jain – Chief Forest Officer, Udaipur was quoted as saying.

N.C Jain added that “both forest department of Udaipur and district environment committee has decided to come up with similar programs every special day of each month viz. 16 September (ozone day), 14 November (children’s day)”
