Dakan Kotra Toll Booth Ravaged by Massive Fire
Financial losses caused by fire estimated running into several lakhs of rupees; server room destroyed

Udaipur, April 11, 2025 - A major fire broke out today, April 11, at the Dakan Kotra toll booth of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation, located on the Jaisamand main road. Owing to the intense heat and strong winds, the fire quickly spread and flames engulfed the toll plaza, completely destroying the server room.
Upon receiving the alert, a team from the Savina Police Station rushed to the spot and immediately called in the fire brigade. The blaze was brought under control with much difficulty. Owing to the incident, traffic on the Udaipur–Salumbar–Banswara–Dungarpur route was disrupted for some time.
Initial reports suggest that the fire caused financial losses running into several lakhs of rupees. Surendra Singh Dewda and Vijay Singh Dewda were present at the scene during the incident. Information of the incident was shared by local folk bhajan singer Shurveer Kotra.
Meanwhile, flames are still visible in the nearby hills and efforts are on to bring them under control.
