Daughter’s inter-caste marriage forced Teacher to consume poison

Daughter’s inter-caste marriage forced the Teacher and his family to consume poison. The incident happened a few days back.

As per reports, Teacher Vinod Sharma and his family were in a shock when they learnt of their elder daughter’s inter-caste marriage. Komal, the eldest daughter of the Sharma family, married a boy from other caste and this fact was not acceptable to the family.

Vinod Sharma, resident of Jyoti Nagar, committed suicide by consuming pesticide along with the entire family. Fear of social mockery forced the family to take this devastating step. Komal is yet to be traced for further investigations.

As per reports, Komal and her “husband” were in the same class in 10th standard. They were seen together a number of times. Komal’s father had warned her to stay away from this boy since he was from a different caste. Komal completed her graduation and this boy was with her all through in the same class.

Around 7 or 8 months back, Komal married this boy but did not tell her family members. On the day of Karva Chauth when married women observe fast for the long lives of their husbands, Komal was also seen performing pooja. She told everyone that she had also observed fast for her husband. The family was in shock upon hearing this. On the very next day of Karva Chauth, the entire family consumed poison for fear of social mockery.

Since this day, Komal and her husband are not to be found. The boy’s family did not even register a missing report with police.
