The flutes cried and expressed the pain. Day 1 of World Music Festival did not stir the happy strings of heart; instead it spread the painful silence around. The martyrdom of 44 CRPF soldiers was obvious in the waves of sounds that came out through the flutes. The musicians paid their tribute through their music which was silently observed by those present on the occasion.

Prior to this, a 40 minute silence was observed in Gandhi Ground and people lit candles in the memory of the departed souls. It may be noted that initially a program was to be hosted at the airport for welcoming the artists of the music festival but this was then cancelled. India will not forget and certainly not forgive the killers.
