Govt School MidDay Meal: Dead Frog Found in School at Chittorgarh

A dead frog was discovered in the midday meal Khichri that was served to students at a Government Primary School in Gilund village of Chittorgarh district.

Upon finding the dead frog in the meal, Sunita Devpura, the Mid-Day Meal Incharge, reported the issue to the acting Principal, Sunita Sharma. The Principal notified other schools where the meal had been sent, instructing them to stop distributing it among the students.

The meal, provided under the Akshay Patra Foundation scheme, was served at the Government Mahatma Gandhi Primary School

Sunita Sharma, who also serves as the Primary Education Extension Officer (PEEO), promptly reached out to other schools in the PEEO region to stop the distribution of khichdi. Approximately 400 students across four schools were affected. The Akshaya Patra Foundation staff arrived at the scene and retrieved all the containers. The teachers of all the schools, meanwhile sent the students home for lunch.

Rajendra Sharma, the District Education Officer (Primary), stated that he conducted an investigation into the situation and the matter is currently under inquiry. They have also discussed the matter with the Manager of the Akshay Patra Foundation. A notice has been issued to the Foundation, and a committee has been established to investigate the incident, with a report expected shortly.
