Udaipur, December 11, 2024 - Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has announced the formation of a separate department to look after the welfare of migrants and address their issues. Also a "single point contact" will be established in each district to address issues faced by families of pravasi Rajasthanis.

He said this in Jaipur during the Pravasi Rajasthani Conclave held yesterday as part of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit. Additionally, December 10 will be celebrated every year as Pravasi Rajasthani Divas during which the government will award Pravasi Rajasthani Samman.

“The hard work, diligence and dedication of migrant Rajasthanis, both in the country and abroad, have made Rajasthan proud. Keeping in mind the interests of migrant Rajasthanis, the State Government has decided to form a special department for them,” CM Sharma said.

He urged migrant Rajasthani people to invest in the State which, he described as reaching new heights of development. "We are working with the resolve to make the State's economy a 350 billion-dollar economy in the next five years," he said.

The State’s third-largest highway network and fifth-largest railway network, along with seven major airports and the Delhi-Mumbai Freight Corridor, make Rajasthan a highly convenient location for transportation, CM Sharma added, saying that Rajasthan, is now becoming a land of big opportunities, a leader in renewable energy, with favourable conditions for both solar and wind energy production.
