UdaipurTimes, Oct 14, 2026 - An Air India flight from Frankfurt to New Delhi made an emergency landing at the Jaipur International Airport on Wednesday, October 14, following a hijack alert sent out by the pilot. According to initial information received, the pilot reportedly activated Squawk 7500, which is an internationally recognised transponder code used to discreetly alert air traffic control to a hijacking or unlawful interference with an aircraft.

Reports quoting sources say the hijack alert was received by Ahmedabad Air Traffic Control (ATC) and flight AI 2030 was diverted to Jaipur and landed safely at 9:35 am with all 306 passengers safe. On landing the aircraft was moved to an isolation bay and subjected to intense checking by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

Preliminary reports indicate the pilot may have sent out the alert by mistake. Detailed investigation is on.
