February 6, 2025 - Delhi elections concluded yesterday, February 5, with initial figures pointing to 60.39% of voters turning out to vote for 70 Assembly seats. This was lower than the elections in 2020 when 62.59% voted. Voting was done in one phase with an electorate of more than 1.56 crore voters choosing from among 699 candidates.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is in the race to secure power for the third consecutive term. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is aiming to end its long absence from Delhi while the third party in the triangular contest, Congress is hoping to fare better than in the past.
How the 2025 elections fare for the people of Delhi will be seen on February 8 when the counting will be done and results announced. However, as of now, majority of exit polls overwhelmingly point to the BJP coming to power, edging out the incumbent ruling AAP.

AAP leader Sushil Gupta rejected the predictions saying: "This is our fourth election, and every time exit polls did not show AAP forming the government in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal has worked for the people of Delhi. We will see the results in favour of the Aam Aadmi Party and we will form the government.”
