BJP has established early leads, crossing the halfway mark in early trends, as counting for the 70 Delhi Assembly constituencies is being conducted at 19 locations in the national capital today, February 8
February 8, 2025 - Counting of votes for the 70 Delhi Assembly constituencies is currently underway. As of 9:00 am today, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was leading in 25 seats, the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP)-led alliance was ahead in 42 seats while the Congress Party was leading in 1 seat. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi was trailing from her Kalkaji seat, Kejriwal was trailing Parvesh Verma in the New Delhi seat. Another AAP bigwig behind in early trends is Manish Sisodia while Adeel Ahmad Khan was leading in Mustafabad.
Counting is being conducted at 19 locations in the city amid tight security. Postal ballots are being counted first followed by votes done through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
AAP is looking to return to power for the fourth consecutive term while the BJP is hoping to get back into Delhi after a gap of nearly three decades.
