Urban Improvement Trust (UIT), Udaipur will start working on construction process of much awaited flyover from Dehligate to Udiapol in association with Mars Planning and Engineering Service Private Limited (Mars Consultant), a company based in Ahmedabad.
The decision was taken in a meeting held today between Engineers of UIT and Mars Consultant Company which resulted in finalizing the plan of the flyover. The final report is based on a survey conducted in February 2012 to review technical achievability.
According to Anil Nepaliya, Executive Engineer, UIT, “The proposed elevated road is expected to be 2 Km long, which will help in strengthening the road network of the city. Moreover, it will also reduce traffic hustle and congestion in nearby areas of Bapu Bazar, Delhigate, Surajpol and Town Hall Road. The construction will be carried out by UIT with help of Udaipur Municipal Council, PWD and Mars Consultant.”
He further added, “Nothing can be said precisely about initiating construction work, but we are trying to do it as soon as possible.”
According to the information, UIT will be writing to UMC and PWD to shift utilities like street lights, electricity polls, water pipeline and other utilities falling in the proposed Map plan and will also be compensating for any property loss occurring in the project. The 2 km long flyover is estimated to cost nearly Rs. 30 crore.
R. P. Sharma, Secretary, UIT said, “There are a few technical hindrances pointed out in the survey, but they can be solved easily.”
